her ABS-CBN's prodigal daughter. As
a kid, Rica Peralejo
was launched as part of the whole bunch
of kids in Ang TV. In her early teens,
she switched camps and joined the Saturday
barkada of Bobby Andrews
and Angelu de Leon in
GMA's lighthearted dramedy T.G.I.S.
When the original gang was replaced
with a new, younger batch, it was time
to make a major move: Rica went blod
and finally got the attention she wanted.
Her launching movie, Balahibong
Pusa, made box-office
news, in the process successfully dethroning
co-star Joyce Jimenez
as the “Pantasya ng Bayan.”
On the silver screen,
she was last seen in Hibla,
where she played obedient student to
expert kisser Maui Taylor,
but what's keeping her really busy these
days is work back at home on ABS-CBN,
where she hosts and casually does her
dance-of-death numbers Sundays at lunch
via ASAP Mania,
and where she gets to play the delightful,
bra-top-wearing rose among the cast
of thorns in the weekly sitcom Ok,
Fine, Whatever. |
