| When
she began her career at 12, she was
just one of the many faces overshadowed
by Jolina Magdangal in Ang TV. Two years
later, she would be repackaged as a
member of the Star Circle Batch 4, the
group that included Jericho
Rosales, who would later become
not just her favorite screen partner
but also her boyfriend. From then on,
there was no other road but success.
Blame it on that beauty, one of the
very rare few among the Jolinas and
the Judays. Blame it, too, on the big
breaks: that phenomenally successful
mini-series in 1998 called Sa
Sandaling Kailangan Mo Ako,
followed by another TV phenomenon called
the teleserye. The unbealievable success
of the first one, Pangako
Sa ‘Yo, would later translate
into three hit movie team-ups with Rosales:
Trip, Forevermore
and Ngayong Nandito Ka.
These days, she's back where her fans
always want her: weeknights on primetime,
playing the barrio lass thrust into
the hard, fast and crazy world of the
big city, and the hard, fast and loving
arms of Jericho in Sana'y
Wala Nang Wakas. |
