EDS in the five-year old Sunday youth
drama, Tabing Ilog,
Kaye Abad may be quintessential
simpleng probinsiyana on the outside,
but inside, she is long-suffering young
mother with the usual season-long, 13-episode
affair once in a while. It is the role
she is most associated with, and for
which she has been nominated at the
Star Awards for TV. While she seen weeknights
these days as the fourth of the quartet
(with Jericho Rosales,
Kristine Hermosa and
Marvin Agustin) that
headlines the teleserye Sana'y
Wala Nang Wakas, Kaye's
most recent tour de force was playing
Carol Banawa in the
recently retired singer's heart rending
life story in Maalaala Mo
Kaya. Oh, and she's also
good at portraying a neophyte in the
flesh trade—in the self-important social
drama Mila
in 2000, the image of Kaye learning
how to smoke like a true prosti was
unanimously praised by critics, and
in the “Aklat” episode of Maalaala in
1998, she bagged a runner-up citation
for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama
at the Asian Television Awards. |
