Jaya , dubbed as local music's Soul Queen, is in love again.
“I”ve fallen in love again,” shares Jaya. The lucky guy is Filipino non-showbiz, and is based in the US where he works as the general manager of a telecommunications company. The two met when Jaya was in the US in October last year for the first leg of her US tour with Freestyle and Basil Valdez . The guy, who is five years Jaya's junior, is divorced and has a son from his previous marriage. He and Jaya have been an item for some six months now.
Finding love again has infused Jaya with a new energy and vision, not just as far as her personal life is concerned. More important, she is not excited again about her career, especially with the release of her much-awaited new album under Viva Records, which is coincidentally entitled Fall in Love Again.
Fall in Love Again was taken from the title of one of the songs in her new album. The song, which was recorded by both Anne Murray and The Carpenters , was re-arranged by Jay Durias of South Border and is one of 15 cuts included in her album.
The other songs are Ako'y Sa ‘Yo ( Ogie Alcasid ), Look What You've Done To Me (originally by David Foster , arranged by Jay Durias), Aahin Pa ( Emerson Texon ), Bakit ‘Di Mo Sabihin (duet with Ogie Alcasid), Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo ( George Canseco ), Pagkukunwari ( Vehnee Saturno ), The Answer is Love ( Barbie Dumlao ), My Love (arranged by Mark Lopez and produced by Ogie Alcasid), Night and Day (Emerson Texon), Stay True (Barbie Dumlao), Maging Akin Ka Lamang (Ogie Alcasid), Sa Duyan ng Pag-ibig ( Willy Cruz ), and the carrier single, ‘Di Na Ba Kita Mapipigilan (Vehnee Saturno).
There is also a jazzed-up version of the Visayan love song Matud Nila , also arranged and produced by Jay Durias.
Fall in Love Again marks, Jaya's “homecoming” to Viva after she was released by Babychild Productions, the company she co-owned with her ex-husband. Babychild produced her last album for Viva, and when problems began to crop up in their marriage, if threw a monkey wrench into her relationship with Viva as well. But now, everything's back to normal, and Jaya is very happy.
