n the middle of the city's hustle and bustle, we found the lush Renee Summer – untouched and in full bloom

Thanks to the genius of some, our boob tubes have been constantly bombarded with wide array of reality TV shows, from the back-to-the-Stone-Age adventures of Survivor to the vocal cord-stretching star guests of the American Idol. And of course we have their local counterparts here, too—featuring anything from preening pugs to hopeless actors.

Fame and fortune seem all too easy with these charades that it's tempting, so hopefuls come flocking like migratory birds for a shot at stardom. Talent? Yes, a lot of the dreamers seem to forget to take some along with them, and the results are often disastrous.

And here is another tale. It's the story of one Batangueña bombshell who left the simple life, braved the crowded streets of Manila clutching along with her only a bagful of talent and a strong desire for movie stardom. Or at least get a shot at it. “I only want to become famous.”

So we'll give her fame! Squeeze in and make room for the bare, bold, and the beautiful Renee Summer.

You've gone from being the province maiden to starring in a sexy action movie. Is it weird being recognized in public?

It's a little weird since I grew up in the province all my life. But being the center of attention is very flattering. People even go in line to get my autograph. Kakaiba yung experience.

What attracted you to the reel world?

I want to be famous. When I was young, I only dreamed of becoming an actress. I really didn't expect this to happen. Dati kasi mahiyain talaga ako. Pero sa showbiz kasi, magkakaroon ka talaga ng confidence sa sarili mo. Kahit mahirap ang pinagagawa sayo, kailangan mong gawin. Even if you know that you can't do it, you really don't have much of a choice.

Do you miss anything from your former provincial life?

I miss my family and friends. Lalo na yung college friends ko. I lost my cellular phone and all their numbers were stored in it. Ngayon tuloy hindi ko na sila ma-trace.

We hope they get to read this. So what's it like to be raped twice on your first movie appearance?

The rape scenes were really hard for me since it's my first time to do something like that. After the shoot, umiyak talaga ako. Sobrang nahirapan ako. It's hard to kiss someone you don't know.

But would you do it all over again?

Kung para sa ikagaganda ng movie, why not? I hope that I won't be crying again, though, Ha ha ha!

It's amazing how you make the tears go river flow.

Kapag sinabi na kasi ng director na kailangan kong umiyak, iiyak na ako agad sa takot ko sa director! I also think of my mother. When she finds out what I've been doing, paniguradong iiyak din yun.

So what's next?

Well I'm doing another movie. It's a comedy. Sana marami pang projects na dumating. But I'd really like to do an action movie. Parang masarap makipaglaban. I'd like to learn martial arts and do my own stunts.

And jump off a train?

I like challenges. Yes! I'll try anything as long as I can be assured that there are safety measures.

Ever tried doing some butt-kicking moves on anyone?

Not yet. Well, I joined a taekwondo class once. After my first try, hindi na ako makatayo. Sumakit talaga yung katawan ko kaya hindi na ako tumuloy. I was really stressed. Pero ngayon, I'm okay. I want to try again. Gusto ko rin masubukang humawak ng baril.

That's well. Women with ammo.

Yeah. My father's from the AFP that's why I'm not afraid of guns. Pero noon, ayaw niya akong matuto.

Does your father clean his gun when men come by your home to court you?

Hindi naman. Some of the guys ask about my dad. Natatakot sila sa umpisa. But my dad is really kind. Hindi naman siya matapang.

So has anyone won your heart and your father's gun?

No. I don't have a boyfriend right now. Dati may boyfriend ako. I had three but they all didn't work out. Two were from Batangas. And the other one's from Cavite .

Ever asked any of your admirers to fetch water for you?

I believe in courtship pero hindi naman ako masyadong traditional. Gusto ko lang yung maipakilala ko siya sa parents ko. Tapos ako rin, maipakilala niya sa mga magulang niya.

All your life, you've only experienced rural dudes. Are you willing to try the suave Manila men?

I haven't had a relationship with anyone from Manila . But I'm willing to try. Ha ha ha! Kaya lang, sana the guy wait for me because I want to focus on my career first.

We're all used to waiting. Now how would you compare Batangueños with the men from the Metro?

Ang mga lalaki sa Batangas, masisipag at matitikas ang mga katawan. The men from Manila , hindi puwedeng dalhin kahit saan. Yung mga taga sa amin, kaya nilang gawin lahat. Pero they're both sweet and kind.

How are the guy fans treating you as the showbiz newbie?

They're nice naman. Though there are times when some of them ask to kiss me. I brush them off, telling them na kapag pinagbigyan kita, lahat ng mga lalaki, kailangan kong bigyan ng kiss. Hindi ko kaya! Ha ha ha! Sa totoo lang, takot ako sa mga lalaki. Kasi whenever they see a sexy woman, gusto nila sex kaagad. Walang ganunan. Gusto ko sa lalaki yung gentlemen.

What kind of guys do you go for?

Physically, I like chinito guys. Yung mapuputi at matatangkad. In a bar full of people, yung mga ganung type ang una kong napupuna. Ayoko rin ng guys who have bad breath. I like them to look and smell fresh. And of course I want a guy who has strong sex appeal. But in the end, I'd for the guy who will love me for who I am, someone who is willing to sacrifice and do everything for me.

And how do you brush off those who don't fit the description?

Kapag hindi ko siya gusto, sinasabi ko na kaagad. I'd tell him, “I don't feel anything for you. Humanap ka na lang ng ibang girl.” Straight to the point. I really tell that to the guy's face.

A natural heartbreaker! You must be quite the terror.

Hindi dapat matakot ang mga lalaki sa akin. I'm really friendly, kind, and sweet!

Really. There must be other things that the public doesn't know about you?

Actually out na ito. Virgin pa ako. Hindi ka makapaniwala ano? Ha ha ha! I want to have sex only after I get married para wala na akong kailangan pang isipin. Kasi if I give myself right now, I might get pregnant. I don't want that. There are still a lot of things that I want to do with my life. Focus muna ako sa sa showbiz. I want to be a versatile actress someday. Yung tipong napagdaanan ko na dapat lahat. At gusto kong magtayo rin ng business. Babuyan.

A fascination for pigs. We don't get that answer quite often.

Mas maganda kasi yung baboy. Nakikita mo na yung pera sa harap mo. Para silang mga piggy banks. Kung gusto mo silang gawing cash, puwede anytime. Well, puwede na rin yung gulayan. Ha ha ha! I want to go back to the province when I'm done with showbiz. Tahimik. Walang ingay. Walang manggugulo sayo. I miss the fresh air and my family. I always think about them.

And finally, what's the one thing you're proud of?

I'm proud that I am still a virgin. Hanggang sa kaya ko pa. Ha ha ha!
