Mark Bautista

is patterns to a comfortable life only come from the way he lives.

Mark Bautista's journey to his dreams has only left proverbial mark of reality. With a stature that has remained fruitful for three years, he can only speak of better things, dreams beyond fulfilled ones and gratitude for the blessings that don't stop pouring in.

Caught right in the comforts of his Quezon City home, Mark share bits of his domestic side and his savored acknowledgement of the life he lives.

“Lumipat kami dito in March of 2005. Before I used to stay in my Lolo's house in Parañaque,” he says. It's one of the major changes that were expected to happen ever since he started realizing his dreams. A two-story edifice he rents along a narrow street in Kamuning, the place is home to him and his father. “Ito yung nagustuhan namin sa lahat ng tiningnan namin. Tahimik itong lugar tsaka malapit sa ABS-CBN,” he adds.

For almost a year now, Mark relishes the experience of keeping his own place with only his father on his side “Dream ko talagang tumira sa ganito kasi dati sa iisang kwarto lang kaming magkakapatid.”

With his father beside, life has always been easier. “My father cooks the food, masarap siyang magluto,” shares Mark.

It is also interesting to note that fans gave most of the pieces in the house. Mark did not have to buy the sala set, the TV set and the air conditioner in his room. His bedroom is where he usually has his quiet moments. When he gets the time to stay home, he relies on his iPod or his soother for a certain sound that relaxes his mind.

A bachelor in his 20s, this product of a nationwide talent search has learned basic lessons in life, which he uses to his advantage. He manages to maintain a decent living amidst the complications of show business, to which he puts: “Nagsisinula yan lagi sa sarili mo. Simula pa lang na-train na akong magkaroon ng control. Nasa pag-aalaga lang yan ng sarili.”

Mark is also especially keen in handling his money. “Maingat ako sa pera. Most of my money ibinibigay ko sa pamilya ko, bukod doon siyempre yung sarili kong savings,” he shares.

Having his hands full with his career—album tours, TV and concerts—which he continues to be mindful of, Mark is either excited at the thought of the dream house he builds for his family in Cagayan. “I am particular and excited dun sa magiging hitsura nung bahay,” he says.

With only a rare visit to his roots, the last he did for a provincial tour, he still tries to keep his eye on the house construction. “Architecture kasi yung course na hindi ko natapos. Gusto kong makita sa bahay yung naiisip kong magiging hitsura niya.”

On finishing a degree, he says the idea remains to be an option, but he is now all focused on his chosen career.

As it constantly turns out, Mark only has blessings to count. His patterns to a comfortable life only come from the way he lives. He says he is most fulfilled upon seeing the fruit of his hard work.

CAP HEARTHROB: A number of caps in his closet were given by fans and friends. Mark bought some of them from his concert tours abroad.

SHOWCASE FROM A FAN: Mark poses on a sala set given by an avid fan from Cebu . He spends a great deal of time using his personal computer whenever he's free from work.

The center table at the living room is accentuated by stylish candle holders.

Mark shares the dining with his father, who, according to Mark is a good cook.

His room is home to his big telescope and personal computer.
