t present, Karylle is one of GMA-7's busiest word. She's seen weekly on the toprating Sunday musical variety program SOP and was one of the cast of the hit youth dramedy Love To Love . Prior to this, she also had a stint with Twin Hearts. If in the former she gets to exhibit her vocal prowess, the latter served as an outlet for her considerable acting skill.

The daughter of the Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla , it's no wonder why the charming beauty has strong inclination towards the biz. In the recently concluded Metro Manila Film Festival, she made an impression as the sympathetic daughter of Vilma Santos in Mano Po 3. And fans continue to support her loveteam with Dingdong Dantes , her leading man in Regal Entertainment's Bahay Ni Lola shown last month.

Truly, Karylle has a long way to go in her chose field. Getting all the support from her family, friend and home studio, she simply radiates a victorious aura.

What's the color motif of your room?
Before kasi, ang favorite color ko is blue ‘tapos pink. Recently kasi, pink ‘yung favorite color ko.

How old are you now?
24.

Did you have a hand in choosing the furniture in your room?
A lot of the furniture, old. Pero recently, gusto ko mga wooden stuff.

Like?
I bought this thing before na wood. Wood na may touch of modern na may silver-silver. Kasi, sabi ng mom ko, ‘yung mga furniture, sobrang siyang investments, eh. Kahit mahal siya, you have to think of it in such a way na puwede siyang ipamana. Or kung ano ‘yung house, okay siyang dalhin. Kasi ‘pag lumipat tayo ng bahay, minsan tinitipid natin ‘yung furniture kasi feeling natin hindi siya investment.

So, basically, when you buy a furniture, that's your consideration?

Minsan lang kasi ako bumili ng furniture, eh. Talagang matagal ko pang pinag-iisipan like ‘yung dining table, ako ‘yun bumili. ‘yung binibili ng dad ko most of everything na. like ito (points to her dresser made of wood in light color).

What are the special features in your room?
Wala naman, computer lang siguro. Hindi ako masyadong mahilig sa gadgets kasi feeling ko, hindi ako makakatulog. VHS lang, DVD, wala namang special. Wala akong corner. Gusto ko sana here (in a room which stands as her walk-in closet) kaya lang hindi ko pa alam kung saan ilalagay ‘yung mga upuan. Pinaka-special siguro ‘yung marami akong pictures.

So, that's your collection?
Sa room ko, marami akong pictures. In every corner, maraming pictures of friends or workmates. Mahilig kasi akong mag-take ng pictures.

Please describe the decorations in your receiving area.
Puro antiques. Siguro through time na-collect siya. Before kasi, sa Greenhills kami madalas ng dad ko kasi ‘yung clinic niya nandoon. Eh, ‘di ba, maraming antique shops doon? So, kunwari nagsawa na kami sa isang furniture, tine-trade in na namin. Lahat sa baba antiques. May corner sa baba na parang window, ‘yun ‘yung parang Taj Mahal namin.

What's your favorite spot in the house?
Ngayon, ang pinaka-favorite spot ko ‘yung sa stairs sa front door. Kasi wala kaming garden so ‘yung ‘yung pinakamagandang place para magmuni-muni ka at saka outdoors pa. Ayoko kasi ‘yung sa baba, meron kaming maliit na place, eh, since ‘yung neighbor namin in-extend nila ‘yung kanila, so hindi na ma-appreciate ‘yung parang garden. So, ‘yung sa stairs, doon kami nagpe-play ng dog ko. ‘Tapos ‘pag gusto kong maglakad, maglalakad-lakad lang ako. Kaya lang minsan ‘yung neighbors. Pero okay kasi dito, you feel safe. Pero para private, dito na lang sa loob.

Why is it that among the units here, you're the only one with the blue door?
Aqua blue door? Siguro para happy door. Pansinin siya.

If you don't have tapings, what do you usually do?
Sa house? Well, recently nagbabasa ako. Hindi kasi ako mahilig magbasa pero the past few months, nagbabasa ako. Feeling ko ‘yung brain ko nag-kecrave for some knowledge. Kasi, two years na since I graduated from college.

What's your course?
Comtech.

Where?
Ateneo… So, ‘yun, two years na rin ako since I graduated. Nag-wonder din ako, bakit hindi ako mahilig magbasa? Eh hindi rin naman ako mahilig manood ng TV unless mga shows ko. Hindi naman sa ano ako, pero natutuwa rin ako ‘pag pinapanood ko para nakikita ko ‘yung mga mali . Mahilig ako before to buy books. Gustung-gusto ko ‘yung may hawak akong book lalo na ‘pag hardbound. Eh, bumili ako ng mga Nick Bantoc books. ‘Yung mga light reads katulad ng How To Meet Cute Guys , The Breakup Diaries . Hindi ko alam ‘yung genre ng mga Shopaholics …

Chick lit.
Yes, chick lit. It's funny though. Hindi naman mababaw. I have a plan pa nga na one day magti-trip ako ‘tapos I'll go to Starbucks and babasahin ko ‘yung How To Meet Cute Guys , titingnan ko kung may lalapit sa akin. Kasi, ‘di ba nakakatawa? Hindi naman sa gusto mong may ma-meet. Parang gusto mo lang makita ang reactions ng mga tao. So, parang ia-alternate ko, light read ‘tapos medyo heavy. ‘Pag binabasa ko ‘yung mga chick lit, hindi naman siya stupid, eh. They are very well written. They're very bright and we can relate, especially ‘yung mga Filipino chick lit.

Interestingly, do you cook?
No, madalas kami mag-order ng food.

What's your favorite food?
Sinigang sa miso. Ino-order ko ‘yun sa Alex III. ‘Pag Sundays kasi, walang tao rito. Kami lang dalawa ng daddy ko.

So, you always order food?
‘Pag Sundays, ‘pag wala ang mga maid. Minsan kasi nakakatamad lumabas ‘pag Sunday. Gano'n kasi ako ‘pag may favorite, ‘yun at ‘yun lang ang hanggang sa magsawa ako.

Do you still have time to do some household chores?
Ngayon, wala masyado. Maglinis-linis pero hindi ko na gaano nagagawa ‘yun, eh. Mahilig ako bumili ng organizing stuff. Like ‘yun (points to an organizer), binili ko ‘yan Organizer racks. Feeling ko, maso-solve na ‘yung kalat ko. Pero hindi, eh.

What part of the house do you enjoy decorating?

My room. ‘Yun na ‘yung pinakaginagawa ko – ‘yung mga pictures. Pinapalit-palit ko siya, eh. Friends, family, it depends kung sino ang mga nami-miss ko.

Who's with you in the house?
Dad ko lang.

Does your mom visit you?
We don't stay here. We often go out for dinner, movie, parlor. Nagpapa-dye treatments, etc.

How long have you been staying here?
Ten years na siguro.

How many rooms do you have here?

Three upstairs, two here, three floors, so bale five. My lola used to live downstairs when she was alive. Ngayon, we converted it into my mini-office.

Do your friends come over?
Here? Usually meron kaming Christmas gatherings or ‘yung barkada ko ‘pag merong bagong bf sa group. If we don't eat out, we eat here. ‘Tapos may tinatawag kaming parang hot seat, magtatanong kami about the guy. Usually ang pinaka-main place namin ay dito.

Do you like Dingdong? He's your current loveteam, right?
Oo nga. Nakakatawa. First time ko kasi magkaroon ng loveteam so hindi ko alam kung paano siya i-handle. Weird kasi ‘tapos, tutuksuhin ka. Wala naman kasing anything sa amin.

Are you friends in real life?
Ever since college. Sa Ateneo, that's where I met him. We've been friends first year college pa.

Dingdong's how old already?
23-24, I'm not sure.

Is it easy to fall in love with Dingdong?

By the blue door is a two-seater sofa where visitors can lounge in.

Natatawa lang ako kasi walang nangyayari. Ayokong pangunahan ‘yung nangyayari kasi walang nangyayari. I don't know, mahirap din namang magsalita ng tapos. Pangit din namang pangunahan mo ‘yung whatever could happen. As of now, we're friends and we get to hang out. I know him a lot, okay na rin. We're not super-close, okay lang.

How does your day usually start when you don't have tapings?
Kapag walang work hindi ako nagbe-breakfast. ‘Tapos usually after lunch, I work out somewhere here either Pilates or kickboxing. ‘Tapos on a kikay day, once or twice a month, kailangan kong mag-facial. I have my hair done either pa-root dye or treatment. Kung hindi naman, I have a foot massage sa Greenbelt . Kung wala ring work, I have to get clothes for SOP or tapings. Which is puwede na rin, it's a good excuse to do grocery, ‘yun lang.

What time do you retire at night?
Ngayon kasi, nagbabasa na ako bago matulog. I'm so proud kasi never akong ganito in my life. I always like nga, to buy books and I always wondered why I never read them. So now na nagbabasa ako, sobrang kong proud. Eh, mom ko kasi mahilig magbasa and she's been trying to get me to read for the longest time. I was like, I'm tamad and I hate that about myself nga. I hate it when people are talking about authors… like, ‘who's your favorite author?' Eh, yung Alchemist nga, ngayon ko lang nabasa at ang nabasa ko pa ‘yung illustrated version. I love kasi graphics. Kaya ‘yung Nick Bantoc ko, pasok na pasok sa akin. Gusto ko ‘yung mga maaarteng books.

Can you react to that issue about your mom encouraging you to wear sexy clothes?

Hindi naman encouraging. May times lang na sinasabi niya to try this or that. Ako naman kasi, siguro a year ago. I started using mga mini-skirts. ‘Tapos sabi ko sa kanya, ‘okay pala legs ko.' Kasi there was a time na feeling ko mataba ako, like when I first started singing. Feeling ko, ‘why ko iso-show ‘yung arms ko, eh, ang laki?' Hindi naman sa anorexic ako or something. Feeling ko lang, mataba ako, kasi hindi pa ako nagwo-work out ang stuff pero now nagwo-work out na ako kaya malakas na ang confidence ko to wear ng mga gano'n. so, sabi niya kailan pa ako magsusuot mga ganyan, ‘pag malaki na ang pata ko or something? ‘Yun lang sinasabi niya. Hindi naman niya ako sinasabihan ng , “Hoy maging sexy ka' or something. Ang sinasabi niya, ‘You shouldn't be afraid to try it and if you work out,” she's working out kasi, ‘you'll feel better about yourself and you wouldn't be too conscious on what you're wearing.'

Is it pressuring to be Zsa Zsa's daughter?
Okay lang. You'd think na gano'n, pero since sobra siyang supportive, hindi mo na mapi-feel, eh. Like now, when they first mentioned to the project to me na kasama ko si Dingdong, bago ko pa nabasa ‘yung script, sabi ko na sa kanya, ‘I think I have to take a workshop.' Sabi niya agad, ‘Yeah, if you want, I'll take it with you. o, ‘di ba, ang sweet? Sabi pa niya, ‘I'm so afraid to tell you something.' Kasi may comment siya sa Love To Love . Sabi ko, ‘Please tell me ‘coz I'd rather hear if from you than from someone else. Kasi at least I know you're not trying to make me feel bad but you're just trying to make me improve.' So, ‘yun sinabi niya. Sabi pa niya, ‘Oh, no! You're gonna hate me!' Sabi ko, ‘No I won't hate you. I want you to help because otherwise how would I know? Who else will tell me? Who else would be honest?'

How's your relationship with Dolphy and your half-sisters?
Actually, hindi ko siya nakikita. ‘Yung sisters ko, very good. It's getting better and better. It's hard ‘coz we don't live in the same house pero kahit paano, okay naman kami.

Do you get to spend time with them?
Once in a while.

Are there other activities you've been doing when you were not yet in showbiz that you miss doing now that you're in? You're a well-travelled person, right?
Hindi naman. Pero luckily, nakapunta na ako sa Europe . Last December naman I went to Las Vegas ‘coz my grandparents are there or my mom's family is there. I've been to China na rin. (Articles lifted from S Magazine) - -
