ike Germany , her land of birth, Lana Asanin is a sucker for surprise attacks
The bad news, gentlemen, is that the chance of Lana Asanin going back to the Pinoy showbiz scene are as tiny as a string bikini. Even still we remember her the way we are reminded of an ex-girlfriend: As much as you'd love to hate her for dumping you, you can't help but fill your thoughts with all the good memories she's left behind.
Perhaps you were having lunch four years ago when you first set your peppers on the svelte green-eyed vamp in Eat Bulaga , her first and biggest TV break ever. The nostalgia pours in even m ore as you recall how you laughed with her in Idol Ko Si Kap , got jiggy with her in Eezy Dancing , went places and partied like mad with her on E! Channel (if you ever cared to watch the last two).
“I think it's quite an accomplishment to be a foreigner in this country and to get into show business,” she remarks. “It wasn't easy, but I guess I just worked really hard.”
So now the Yugoslavian beauty has moved back to Germany , her birthplace, and has more than beer and sausages to feed our answer-hungry minds. “I'm doing modeling there,” she says, “but I'm also looking into entering show business in Germany and going to the States for a possible movie project. I'm also doing a campaign for a friend who's buying furniture in the Philippines and selling them in Germany .”
If we stick to the ex-girlfriend thing, it looks like our busy babe here really has not time for reconciliation…
Good thing we still got you do pose for Pinoy FHM?
I think anywhere in the world you do an FHM shoot, it's good because it's a magazine that's known worldwide. People here still know me from before and they still remember me from my old days in Eat Bulaga . But I also want to show them even as I'm entering the international scene now that I will always mention the Philippines because this is where I had a good time working for a few years.
So how does life role in Germany ? The weather there is not as nice as here. Here you have wet and dry, there you have four seasons. Most of the time it's kind of gray. The sad part of people's mood depend on the weather. When it's bad, they're They only smile when the weather is nice. But when it comes to work, they're very professional?
Speaking of work, why did you decide to closes my doors having worked here for a few years, I think I just have more opportunities abroad. Nowadays, you see so many kids on local TV—it's not my thing any more. I'd like to do acting and hosting, and acting here is so difficult to do. You have to speak the language properly, and I'm not so good in Filipino.
But you do know how to make us laugh.
Comedy for me comes out naturally because I'm naturally funny. But I'd like to do serious movies. And to be honest money is better there, too, ha ha!
You never got to master the Filipino language?
I did learn Filipino on my own. I didn't have anyone to teach me. Until now I can understand it but to make a real conversation in Filipino is a little hard for me. I also speak German, Yugoslavian, English, and Spanish and understand French as well. So I try not to get confused with the languages!
Did you also absorb any of the Filipino values—hospitality, patience, not being on time?
I'm very professional. I always try to be on time. But I think I've absorbed the Filipino quality of being more laid-back. What's nice about here is that even though there's a lot of problems going on in the country and people don't have money, they still seem to be happy with their lives. In Europe , when people don't have work or money, you can tell from their faces that they're not happy. When you're here for a long time, you learn how not be too stressed-out and think in a positive way.
And let's not forget you worked with TVJ for a time…
Yeah. I was always linked with Vic Sotto, which is funny because nothing really happened between the two of us! All I can say is they were really nice to me. Joey is a Libra like me so we get along really well. I never had problems them. Every day I'm with them they make jokes. They're so funny! But who I really got close to was Allan K. he's a good friend.
Oh. So what the most important life lesson you've learned form the buffoons?
I don't know, maybe the corny jokes? I think that's about it. Ha ha! Well they also taught me how to speak the language. They also shared dancing tips with me, but I know dancing already from before, ha ha! I've really learned TV hosting and comedy from them. Actually there were really helpful in everything. They'd always been there for me.
Were you in Germany during Eat Bulaga's 25 th anniversary celebration? Did you light 25 candles?
I was in town! Too bad I didn't know they had a party. I'm sure they would've invited me but they didn't know I was here.
Sad. Now let's proceed to the second half of the interview… How's the love life? It's fine. I have somebody in my life, he's American and right now he's here with me.
Does expertise in choosing men come with age?
I've always been very choosy. But still I think the older you get the wiser you become. Actually when I look back at all the boyfriends I've had, they're of different kinds. But generally I like men who are tall, muscular, dark-haired, a little dark-skinned, and athletic because I love sports, too. I'm actually into the Spanish-South American-Latino man.
Do want to be courted or are you into the “Hey, I like your shirt, let's get together” type?
I do have romantic side. I do believe in courtship. I'd like to have a nice dinner, candle lights, and all. I'm not into going to clubs because that's so boring. I think people you meet in the clubs are not for long-time relationships. They're looking only for a one-night stand or for a short-term relationship. I thin it's nicer to meet somebody by accident somewhere else.
What's the best thing about being your boyfriend?
I don't cook but I know how to clean the house, hahaha! Seriously, I'm sweet. I'm always there for the person not only as a girlfriend but also as a good friend. In fact when I'm in love with somebody I really take care of the person. Sometimes I think it's too much because I think more of that person than I think of myself. It's not nice at all the time because I neglect my work. But I think I'm learning now. How does he get you in the mood? He has to be first one to move and make lambing I'm usually not the aggressive type, but sometimes I do tend to be aggressive. Normally I like the guy to come to me, being sweet, touching me, and kissing me.
Where do you want to be touched?
Where or how? Ha ha! Everywhere!
But given that a man only has two hands, were do you want him to start?
It usually starts with kissing. That's my favorite. But it depends on who you kiss. If I kiss somebody who doesn't know how to kiss. I don't want to go any further. But if you know how to kiss, then I'm interested. You're probably good in bed!
And from there things will lead further to…
You touch me everywhere. From the breasts down, ha ha! It's nice when you caress my body slowly. But it also depends on the moment. There are days when I like the sweet touch to feel like we're making love. But then again I'd like that rough type, too. I like to rip the clothes off! Ha ha!
You're probably the type who gets bored in the bedroom.
I'm very adventurous. I do it in the bedroom but I'm more of the type who'd like to do it somewhere else. I like the challenge—like you almost get caught but you're not getting caught. That's me.
And probably you've done it on an airplane?
I've never tried it on a plane because every time I fly, I fly alone, so there's nobody could do it with. I've done it on a soccer court, but it was at night and there were no light. I've also done it in a car, on a washing machine, in a cinema, and on a beach. My first time? It was on the beach. I was 16 years old. - -
