IANCA ARANETA: Just like love, Bianca's come back UNO photo shoot is lovelier the second time around.
Some things are better the second time around. And a pictorial with Bianca Araneta is definitely one. You remember vividly the first time the bodacious supermodel graced UNO's pages. And you saw a totally unique and sultrier side of her. Suddenly, the familiar beauteous face that graced some of the most memorable commercials was showing that she had the body to boot. And just like the upset of the US Dream Team, you never thought it would happen, but you're glad it did.
This image of sexier Bianca Araneta was taken up another notch with her being one of Addict Mobile's newest faces, in the TV commercial, we see her crossing the gleaming white beach in a red bikini, flaunting that impossibly perfect figure, about to launch into some kick-ass wakeboarding. I'm sure we all find ourselves addicted to the TV screens whenever this ad comes on. And that addiction for Bianca continues as she makes a repeat appearance in this magazine. This is one hot encore performance.
You've posed for UNO before. What was that like?
Ah, that was different because it was the first time I've ever done – well, not really – it wasn't the first time I've never done a bikini shoot, but [one] for a men's magazine. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was working with people I haven't worked with before—new photographer, new make-up artist. I wasn't even sure that that was going to be a cover. I thought that was supposed to be an editorial, like “UNO Girls” thing. Then they wound up using it for the cover the following month. So that was great—that was totally unexpected, and I was quite happy.
Are you still feeling the effects of that shoot?
I guess, after that, it was a very different side, I'd say, of me. It had a very different feel to everything, and a lot of people are a little likely to style me differently. Now they wanna see me in a different way. Also because for so many years back, I was always such a “girl next door,” [doing] very typical beauty shots. Now it became a little more edgy after that.
The Addict Mobile commercial was your first ad wearing a bikini, right?
Yes. That was because none of my brother ads called for a bikini anyway so… Well, I was in a bikini ‘coz I was gonna wakeboard, they didn't really make it like a sexy, whatever thing—it was sporty. That was also new, but that was quite nice. I like that shoot.
Speaking of sporty, any other sports you're into?
I've gotten into a lot of sports. As a kid I've always played badminton and I still know how. Horseback riding, jetski, wakeboarding. I also played soccer and volleyball in high school, and I used to do track and field.
No wonder you look great. What qualities made you an Addict endorser?
I think it was my personality, I guess, had a lot of different things going for me. I think they liked the fact that I knew how to wakeboard. It's very Addict Mobile, you know, the whole extreme sports thing. I guess being athletic was an aspect that they liked. The first thing they asked me was, “Can you wakeboard?” and I was like, “Yeah.” I guess that's how.
So what are you addictions?
I like gadgets. I'm really into computers and cameras. Photography is a passion of mine.
Have you ever gone out with a guy your exact opposite?
Yeah.
How was that like?
There was nothing wrong with it. I believe that you get attracted also to things, to different people, to qualities that aren't your own. I don't' see anything wrong with that, at all. There was no difference. But definitely, when you compare our personalities, they're very different.
So there was still chemistry…
Yeah. I think that opposites attract, I thin that people are drawn to things that are unlike them.
Any big misconception people had you?
That I was mataray , haha. I guess that would be the best, because a lot of people though that way, especially like make-up artists or, you know, like people who interview me, like mga writers. It's quite a common misconception about me. They think I'm really mataray because I'm not like all smiley and chipper but they would go, “Oh, you're so different pala. We thought you were like this and like that.”
Have you ever made the first move to get a guy?
Maybe not the first move, but I'm not scared to make a move. But I probably wouldn't make the first move unless…I can't recall a time when I really did.
You've recently started hosting Digital LG Challenge. Would you consider yourself a trivia enthusiast?
I wouldn't think I was a trivia enthusiast at all, but I've gotten into many things in my life that there's a lot of diversity. I'm pretty well-rounded, I'd say, as a person. I got into sports, I've gotten into many different many things—hobbies, passions, whatever, while growing up.
Do you flirt?
Yeah, everyone does.
Up to what extent?
I won't go like all out and flirt with a guy. I thin I'm more modest in that sense. I'm not one of those girls who really flirts in your face. You know, I prefer to keep some mystery there rather than just be in your face, like, “Here I am!” I'm definitely not like that.
How do you pamper your man?
I'm very affectionate. I give 110 percent all the time. I'm very maasikaso, so to speak. I really look out for them, take care of them. I take care of them quite well, I've always been that type of person who, you know, if they're not feeling well or something, I'm the type who'd bring food to them, feed them, make them masahe—stuff like that. I like giving them attention and taking care of them. I like taking care of my boyfriend.
Being a naturally gorgeous girl, is there any body part you'd like to change?
God, yeah. I mean, like earlier in the shoot, I've noticed everybody was like, “Oh, you know, whatever, you're thin and stuff,” but I guess every body part—or everybody—has their own insecurities. You look at them and say, “Oh God, they're so perfect, and look a t her body, she's so ‘like this' and ‘like that,'” but no matter what, every the most gorgeous person out there, I'm sure, has something about themselves that they would like to change. They just know how to hide it in photographs, that's why they don't look that way. I mean with me, I'm definitely far from perfect, that's what I'd say so definitely there's a thing that I'd like to change. Would I change it? No, I wouldn't go for extreme measures.
What body part of yours gets the most compliments from guys?
From guys? Eyes, maybe? Eyes, hair, I don't know. I'm not sure.
What's the sexiest outfit you've worn inside the bedroom?
Oh I don't wanna talk about this, haha! No, next question…
Aww, man! How about outside?
A bikini maybe, haha.
What do you prefer on men, boxers or briefs?
Boxers I guess, haha.
What's your view on one-night stands?
I'd never do it. I just think that sex is a very personal thing. It's not something you share with a person you've just met. I definitely have not had a one-night stand, I never intend to, and I don't know, I'm not for it.
Since you've conquered everything—modeling, charities—is there still any other aspect you'd like to explore?
You know, modeling isn't gonna be forever, that's for sure. I was lucky I was able to do it while I was younger, until now, I've been in this industry for ten years. But I know that you can't be doing this forever, and definitely you have to be doing something else, and at least there's more longevity in hosting. I've always liked working behind the camera. I love working on computers, I like graphic design, a dabbling into all these other little things, I've always been like a little artist since I was young. So definitely, maybe a career in path—behind the camera is something I definitely see in the future. I can't see myself working behind a desk. I can't see myself really doing anything too corporate. I'm definitely more into the arts. (Articles lifted from Uno Magazine) -
