Maranao chest are traditional furniture of all wealthy
class of the Maranao Cultural minorities in the Southern
Islands of the Philippines. It's main feature is the
mother-of-pearl inlay on wood of varied "okir" designs
influenced by centuries of Muslim tradition from the
Middle East. Originally used as storage of garments,
these chest or "bowl" are now used as storage and
alternately as striking or foot chest for bedrooms. Add
on a glass top for an original coffee table.
